Dafilon® is a synthetic, non-absorbable, monofilament suture made of polyamide 6/6.6 (dyed blue) polyamide. Dafilon® blue is used for skin closure and in plastic surgery. Dafilon® blue is also suitable for use in neurosurgery. As with any nylon suture material, although non-absorbable, progressive hydrolysis of the suture material may result in a gradual loss of tensile strength over time.
